Today, we are present in more than 40 countries and have manufacturing sites in Europe, North America, South America and Asia. The group’s headquarters are in Nässjö, Sweden.

There are nine Industrilas full-service hubs across the globe. At these hubs you will find a sales organisation, product design expertise, a warehouse and a distribution centre. Our full-service hubs are located in Brazil, China, France, Germany, Mexico, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Great Britain and in USA together with Allegis.

We have always believed that local presence is important, so a part of our expansion is to open offices in more and more countries. These offices can then grow along with the growing business. Today you can find expansion offices in Austria, Benelux (Belgium, Luxembourg and The Netherlands), Hungary, India and South Africa.

Product development model

Since 1981, Industrilas has been designing access solutions that enhance the value of our customers' products. During this time, we have developed a four-step model for creating high-quality products.

Define the type of application and the critical needs and requirements. For instance, will it be an offshore unit operated in harsh weather? Does it need to withstand vibrations or fulfil hygiene and clean room regulations?
Always consider the whole solution. How can we combine latches, handles, hinges, profiles and accessories to create the best and most valuable solution for our customer?
Make life easier for end users and installers. How can we make the solution easy and time-saving to install, as well as highly functional and smooth to operate?
Facilitate clever and sustainable manufacturing. How do we save raw materials, energy, time and improve the production process?

Sustainability

Industrilas can supply product emission data

Presently, the calculations and Life Cycle Assessments are available for products produced at our largest manufacturing site in Nässjö, Sweden. In the future we will expand the data to include all our manufactured products, at all our sites.

The data used for calculations is derived from the Greenhouse Gas Protocol standard or ISO 14064. Our ERP system includes an add-on that allows us to perform life cycle assessments for individual products.

Moving on, the data and calculations will be used in a variety of ways. They will not only benefit our customers’ sustainability efforts, they will also be a baseline for how Industrilas can streamline and improve our manufacturing from this point onwards. Data is the key to unlock the future, says Martin Samuelsson.

Industrilas use climate effective zinc

The climate-smart zinc is produced entirely with renewable energy. This reduces emissions from zinc production by 43%. The zinc is exactly the same alloy as before and can be used directly in Industrilas' production, without any needed adjustments.

– We are aware of our responsibility towards people, nature and the climate. Therefore, we work hard every day to develop our business and find new solutions for an increasingly sustainable tomorrow. The switch to climate effective zinc is a significant step forward, saving the equivalent of 67 trips around the world with a diesel car every year, says Fredrik Mölzer, CEO of Industrilas Group.

Sustainability Policy

Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

Environmental: We are aware of our responsibility towards people and nature, and we want to minimize the effect that our actions might have on the environment. We aim to reduce consumption of natural resources, reduce production and process waste, and increase our share of renewable energy.

Social: All humans are equal and have the same value and rights. Industrilas has an absolute zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of discrimination, and we continuously work to curb the presence of inequality and discrimination in our community and globally.

Economic: Industrilas shall provide conditions to ensure long-lasting sustainable development, prosperity for the company and value for our customers. We follow local and global laws and standards and have a zero-tolerance policy towards any kind of behaviour that conflicts with good business ethics.

Transportation and recycling

Industrilas currently has four manufacturing sites, strategically placed on four continents. This means shorter supply chains since we are closer to both our suppliers and customers, as well as better stability in production flows and lower emissions from transportation. Our supply chains are constantly evaluated based on quality, dependability, speed and cost.

Even though all our packaging materials are already either reusable or recyclable, Industrilas has set up a project to reduce material usage even more by optimizing the volume of packaging.

Waste material from manufacturing is reused whenever possible. This reduces the amount of materials we need to purchase.

Supply chain

We always want to establish long-term relationships with our suppliers. This gives us the chance to develop sustainable supply chains with a safe and stable flow of products and services. First and foremost, we contract suppliers who are certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. Suppliers must comply with the RoHS 2, RoHS 3 and REACH directives and the standards for Conflict Minerals.

Corruption and unetchical behaviour

Industrilas is aware of the risks regarding corruption and unethical business actions. To reduce these risks, Industrilas has a code of conduct that all employees must follow, as well as a whistleblower policy and a grievance system. Unethical behaviour processes are in place.

Taking care of people

Equality and diversity are of utmost importance for Industrilas, and we believe that all humans have the same value and equal rights. We believe that everybody can contribute and is worthy of a rewarding life.

In 1997, Industrilas and the Municipality of Nässjö formed Industrigruppen (The Industry Group) as a division of Industrilas. The project aims to provide meaningful work to people who find it difficult to access the regular job market. The group’s job is to sort, package and assemble products that Industrilas manufactures. Several of the group’s members have worked at Industrilas for many years, some even since the start of the collaboration in 1997.

In-house manufacturing

At Industrilas, every step in the production chain is done in-house, from design and the casting of metal – to the finishing touches. We currently have production facilities on four continents: Europe, Central America, South America and Asia.

Sweden is the largest site and produces products that are shipped all over the world
Mexico produces products for North, Central and South America
Sri Lanka produces products mainly for Asia
Brazil manufactures products mainly for South America
We also have assembly operations in China and Germany

In 2022 we expanded the production facility in Mexico, and in 2023 we moved into our brand new factory in Nässjö, Sweden. These moves mean that we have doubled our production space in recent years.

A partner to rely on

We invest in the locations where our competence and know-how are high. That is why it was only natural that we built our brand new factory in Nässjö, Sweden. The factory brings a lot of benefits for us and our customers. For example, we will be able to have even more concurrent customer projects and be able to adapt our production flows totally according to developed products. This will allow our customers to evolve together with us, long term.

Efficient production flows enhance delivery dependency

Building a factory from scratch brings possibilities you will never have if you move into an existing facility and try to get your business to work there. In our case, we have been able to adapt every aspect of the new factory to suit our needs and production flows. One example is that we have placed the loading docks so the delivered material can go straight into the production line, instead of first being transported to a storage area. This means smarter production flows and smarter use of the factory’s space.

Design and construction department

The production chain’s first stop is to design and construct a product or solution. Our team designs both standard and customized products, always with the customer’s requirements in mind. When a design is set and approved, the construction begins.

Quality department

A new construction always needs to be tested thoroughly to make sure that it meets the proper demands. Typical quality testing includes waterproofing, dustproofing, protection against the elements and cycle tests. A mutual goal for every product is that it is easy to install, easy to maneuver and is of high quality.

Mechatronic R&D

A couple of years ago, Industrilas set up a special department dedicated to mechatronic solutions. Within the department we do research, development, design, prototyping and testing. Mechatronic access solutions can be monitored, accessed remotely and connected to the cloud.

Tool department

The tool department coordinates, manufactures and maintains the tools needed for our manufacturing. On a yearly basis, new tools needs to be processed and initiated, and the current stock needs to be maintained. Once this process in complete, the tools go on to be used in the different manufacturing departments.

Powder coating

In this department, the products go through a five-step pre-treatment process with Polyester and Epoxy Powder. We can also offer customers the additive Biomaster mixed in the powder coating. Biomaster is an antimicrobial protection that reduces bacteria and the risk of cross-contamination on the products.

Turning

The first manufacturing department is Turning where raw material such as steel, stainless steel, brass, aluminium and plastic is being processed and transformed into nuts, screws and other parts that are essential for all the products. Turning has both automatic and CNC automatic machines.

Zink foundry

Over 700 ton zinc is in process here, every year. The processes are automatic and semi-automatic, and we work with zinc die casting machines, robots, polishing and blasting machines, and an ultra-sonic washing machine.

Injection moulding and PUR gasketing

This department houses most of our robotic assistance. The processes are automatic with injection molding machines. PUR gasketing is the process that ensures waterproof assembly in the products and solutions.

Punching and bending

With manual, automatic and semi-automatic processes, Punching and Bending is one of our busiest and most tool intensive departments. We work with an excentre press machine, riveting machines and rod manufacturing.

Drilling and threading

Some of our products need treatment with either drilling or threading. We have custom-made machines that are programmed to thread details and put the finishing touches on these products. Drilling and Threading is done with automatic and semi-automatic processes and the department has turning machines, pillar drilling machines and manual milling machines.

Assembly

The last manufacturing department is Assembling where the products are put together, both manually and with semi-automatic processes, and then packaged neatly.

Warehouse

The last stop of the entire production chain is in a way also the first one: the warehouse where goods come and go. When the assembling is done, the cartons are stacked on pallets and organized by date, customer and country. Our products are now ready to leave our facilities and reach our customers.

Industrilas holds an AAA rating, we follow the REACH and RoHS directives, and our quality management systems are certified to IATF 16949, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
