Sealing Profiles for Fire Prevention - with Expanding Cord Insert
Index Code:A typical use for this sealing profile is the railway industry, where doors can be sealed in such a way that if a fire would start, the expanding profile will effectively seal off the enclosure. This prevents noxious fumes and smoke to reach other areas, and oxygen to enter the enclosure.
Made of EPDM according to EN 45545-2 with a Ø 4 mm cord insert made of a graphite material (PROMASEAL®-LX). The sealing system reaches EN 45545-2.
The cord insert expands up to 22 times its original size at 190°C.

A) The expanding cord is inserted into the top of the sealing profile after the extrusion process.
B) The expanding cord is inserted into the side of the sealing profile after the extrusion process.
